Interview With Natalie Beckley : celebrating 10 Years with Silvey Fleet

Natalie Beckley, our Fleet Business Development Manager, has just celebrated her tenth work anniversary at Silvey Fleet! It’s a great opportunity to review her career and see how the business has changed over the past decade.

Talk us through how you joined the business

When I moved to Bristol just over ten years ago I was looking for an exciting role in a small–to-medium sized company. My initial interview was with Miriam, now our Managing Director, for an account management role within the fuel card division.

Miriam sold the role to me and since it was a great opportunity I joined the company. Initially I  focused on helping to manage accounts and assisted with credit tasks. When the opportunity came up to take on a Field Sales role I leapt at the chance.

After four years as a field sales representative for the fuel cards, I felt ready for a new challenge so when the role of Team Leader was advertised within the telesales department I applied. I could see this would be a great opportunity to combine my knowledge of the fuel card products with my energy to help the telesales team reach their targets!

Three years ago the company made a strategic decision to expand their fleet products and become the best fleet management solution provider. This provided me with a new opportunity and my greatest challenge so far – taking on the role of Fleet Business Development Manager. It’s a fantastic role as I combine my field sales experience with my training background to explain to companies throughout the UK how they can run their fleets more efficiently using our Miles Monitor products.

What changes have you seen in the last 10 years?

Its been quite a transformation! It’s like a Cinderella story – from the tiny offices at the bottom of the M32 to a beautiful open planned office in Bradley Stoke! Throughout that time and growth our values have remained consistent – to provide solutions, delivered with the highest quality customer service. It’s been great to see our culture evolve and to have been part of this exciting journey.

If you could give advice to yourself 10 years ago, what would it be?

To believe in yourself more, to have faith that what other people see in you is real – and to go for it! Silvey Fleet is a very supportive employer who has definitely helped me with my career progression.

What do you enjoy about working for Silvey Fleet?

The main reason I love working for Silvey Fleet is the people – they are always really supportive, encouraging and know how to have fun! I love the variety in my role, it makes everyday enjoyable for me.
