Helping inspire the next generation’s workforce

Silvey Fleet is passionate about empowering the next generation. Over the past 5 years, as part of our CSR commitment, we have been working in partnership with Bradley Stoke Community School to provide work experience days for their students.

Many students have had no experience of being in a working environment. Giving them the opportunity to spend time in the work place with Silvey Fleet is great way of helping them learn about the world of work, and experience first-hand what it’s like to work in our industry.

Hosting year eight students

Last week we were delighted to host a group of 17 energetic year eight students for a work experience day. Students spent time learning about some of the different roles people play within the business such as Sales & Marketing, HR, Compliance and Accounting.

Since working from home is now an accepted part of hybrid working, we also arranged for them to participate in a conference call with staff working from home. Finally, they were treated to a delicious buffet lunch before exploring apprenticeships and other different pathways into work.

Proud to play our part

“It’s great to be able to play our part in helping prepare and inspire the next generation’s workforce by hosting work experience days,” said Silvey Fleet’s Marketing Manager, Lucy Thomson. “Our team thoroughly enjoyed meeting and talking to the students who seemed to have a great time. Who knows, maybe one of the students who visited will one day join our team!”
