Transition your fleet to EV

We can help you introduce electric vehicles into your fleet, outlining a fleet electrification plan that works for your company and creates a more efficient fleet.

As part of our EVSA (Electric Vehicle Suitability Assessment) we will review all the routes your drivers regularly take. Then considering the locations of charging stations and vehicle range, we can recommend electric vehicle alternatives to current diesel or petrol vehicles.

If you’re planning an EV transition for your fleet let us help you make the switch – call our EV fleet consultants on 01454 333022.

FAQs

In the know

The following should answer your questions, but our EV (electric vehicle) fleet consultants are also on hand. Give us a call on 01454 333022. We’d be happy to discuss how we can help transition your fleet to electric.

How ‘green’ are electric vehicles?

EVs produce about half the greenhouse gas emissions of an equivalent vehicle using petrol or diesel. As such, EVs are seen by many as a viable way to achieve the UK’s zero emissions mandate, which sets out how many new zero-emission cars and vans need to be produced each year. The aim is that 80% of new cars and 70% of new vans sold in Great Britain will be zero emission by 2030. This is set to increase to 100% by 2035.

Can I save money using EVs in my fleet?

Despite the higher upfront costs, electric vehicles (EVs) can definitely save you money through lower fuel and maintenance costs, tax incentives, and other long-term savings.

So, as well as the obvious environmental benefits (EVs emit around half the emissions of an equivalent vehicle using petrol or diesel), using electric vehicles in your fleet can deliver significant cost savings over time.

Are there tax incentives for switching my fleet to EVs?

Yes, the government is offering tax incentives as well as credits, grants, and exemptions to encourage businesses to switch their fleets to EVs.

The Benefit in Kind (BIK) tax is much lower on electric cars than on petrol and diesel cars – just 2% until 2025. This will then increase by 1% each year up to 5% in 2028. Electric vehicles are also exempt from congestion charges, London’s Ultra Low Emissions Zone, and clean air zone charges in other cities around Britain.

In addition, the Workplace Charging Scheme is a grant that provides support towards the costs of the purchase, installation and infrastructure of electric vehicle charge points at places of work.

Can I use public chargers to charge my EV fleet?

Yes, you can use public chargers to charge your EV fleet, providing added convenience and flexibility for your charging needs. The UK’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure is always improving, making it easier for drivers to charge their EVs when travelling around the UK.

However, if your drivers rely on public charging, it’s important to plan routes carefully to ensure there are enough charging stations and sufficient time for recharging along the way.
